VOCATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL COURSES (VET)

Australia has an impressive number of study options available for international students. There are over 1.200 institutions and over 22.000 courses to choose from, so it can be easy to get overwhelmed by the wide variety of studying opportunities. At Welcome Students Group we sort through the options to find the ones that best suit your needs!

VET are tertiary courses focused on providing students with practical training and work experience to prepare you for both further studies and employment. Vocational Education and Training enables students to gain specific skills and qualifications to help them in the workplace.

These courses combine practical hands-on learning experiences in specially equipped classrooms with fieldwork, workshops, lectures and class discussions.

The VET sector is crucial for the Australian economy; both for the development of the national workforce and as a major export industry.

UNIVERSITY PATHWAYS

One of the biggest benefits of pathways is that they provide the skills and knowledge required for more advanced study, including courses at the university level. Higher education assumes that students have a certain amount of knowledge in the topic or area they will study. Many pathway options provide streams or direct-entry routes into corresponding higher education programs.

Associate Degrees (2 years full-time):

These can be used to gain direct entry to the corresponding Bachelor course and gain credit for the study you have undertaken.

Diplomas (12 months full-time):

The grades in a diploma program can be used to calculate your entry score, which will be considered in your application to gain entry to your chosen Bachelor course.

Certificates (5 months full-time):

The grades in a certificate program can be used to calculate your entry score, which will be considered in your application to gain entry to your chosen Bachelor course.

Vocational pathway courses (6 to 24 months part-time and full-time):

Successful completion of these courses will give you direct entry to your chosen Bachelor course.
